How to choose a handwoven throw for Indian weather
Weight, fibre and weave matter more than the label. A short guide to picking a throw you will actually use.
A good throw should earn its place on the sofa. For most Indian homes, a light cotton or cotton-linen throw is more useful than a heavy wool one. Look for a breathable weave, a manageable size (130 × 180 cm works for most sofas) and a finished edge that will survive regular washing. Colour matters too: natural dyes soften beautifully but may shift slightly in the first wash, so wash separately in cold water. And if you are buying handwoven, expect small irregularities. They are part of the material.
